On Wednesday 27 at 6:30 pm, the opening of Heng Ravuth’s exhibition Drunk Nude at Java Independence, continuing the artist’s use of the nude, here using self portraiture to create a “collage-like texture and surface”. “My work is unlike [a] mathematical algorithm, it’s not about two by two equals four, it’s about multiplicity, allowing and challenging the viewer to engage in the dialogue, and a larger debate – in other words they are subject to free interpretation or elucidation.” The show runs until 30 September.

Opening Wednesday 25 at the French Institute is Un musée (de théâtre) (Museum (theatre)), a participative theatre and photo installation based on Heiner Müller’s play Hamlet
Machine.   Visitors are invited to choose a photograph to be projected on screen coupled with one or several words from the text of the play translated in French, Khmer and English. The installation is open for set times from Thursday 26 through to Saturday 28, with evening performances and a slideshow and debate on Saturday at 5 pm. See the website for times.
