The aforementioned Kampot Writers and Readers Festival takes place this weekend, Thursday 3 – Sunday 6, with a closing night party in Phnom Penh on Monday 7 at The Exchange. Also this weekend, from Thursday 3 – Monday 7, the 13th Phnom Penh International Music Festival, entitled SHAKESPEARE 400, features music, songs and poetry from the Renaissance to mark the 400th anniversary of the English writer’s death. The Traditional Dance Show, presented by Cambodian Living Arts, takes place at the National Museum stage. The hour-long performance showcases classical and folk dances from across Cambodia, including the famous Apsara. Every night Monday-Saturday (October-April) and every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (May to September).
Phare Ponleu Selpak, the famous Cambodian circus school offers nightly performances in Siem Reap and performances on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in Battambang, on a rolling cycle of different works.
