Wednesday 2, the opening event for the Kampot Writers and Readers Festival, An evening with the writers, takes place at Raffles Le Royale in Phnom Penh, 4 pm – 9 pm. Local and international writers including Shane Maloney, Laura Jean McKay, Ky Kalyan, Kosal Kiev, Carlos Andres Gomez, Phina So, Lok Ta, Thavry Thon, and Chath Piersath will be attending, along with a special performance by the Bou’Sra Arts & Culture Troupe of Mondulkiri.

The Kampot Writers and Readers Festival descends on Cambodia for the weekend 3 – 7 November. A comprehensive list of the many visitors to the KWRF is now available on-line, and the schedule is being progressively released. Expect readings, discussions, panels, workshops, music, screenings and more. A general call is going out for a Saturday afternoon event, My Favourite Poem, hosted by Tree Bernstein – if you would like to contribute a reading and a few contextual comment about the poet and the poem, please contact Tree [treebernstein@gmail.com] for more information.   Raffles Le Royale is hosting a pre-festival event, An Evening with the Writers, on Thursday 2 from 4 pm.
