Opening Wednesday 25 at the French Institute is Un musée (de théâtre) (Museum (theatre)), a participative theatre and photo installation based on Heiner Müller’s play Hamlet
Machine
.   Visitors are invited to choose a photograph to be projected on screen coupled with one or several words from the text of the play translated in French, Khmer and English. The installation is open for set times from Thursday 26 through to Saturday 28, with evening performances and a slideshow and debate on Saturday at 5 pm. See the website for times.

On Thursday 26 at 6.30 pm at Meta House, the opening of IN/VISIBLE BORDERLINE, a collaborative installation by Vietnamese interdisciplinary artist Tuan Mami and Cambodian documentarian Sao Sopheak looking at the state of Cambodian/Vietnamese relations and the similarities and differences of communities on either side of the border. Followed at 8 pm by a panel discussion on the value of art in reconciliation and diffusion of conflicts, featuring Tuan Mami, Sao Sopheak, Clyde Chabot (Stage Director/France) and Nico Mesterham (Moderator/Germany).

Rising Together from the Ashes, by filmmakers Maxie Borchert and Bilal Mohammed, follows the story of NGO founder and school director Muoy You, widow of Cambodian painter You Khin. On Wednesday 6 from 6 pm, Sa Sa Bassac presents the opening of Poetic Topographies, a two-person exhibition of new work by emerging artists Eng Rithchandaneth and Kong Dara, curated by Vuth Lyno.  “With Inside Out, Daneth turns to the symbolic material of earth – a fertile source of life and the site of conflict. A puzzle-like formation lies on the floor; its pieces resemble geographic fragmentation. […] In a separate series, Sareirak, (Organism), Dara interprets his direct observations of behavior and affection among straight and gay passengers on public transportation in Bangkok.”
